Laurence Shahlaei Strongman Diet

As promised guys, here’s a typical days food and supplement intake. Right now my focus is stripping fat whilst maintaining muscle and strength. I’m getting roughly 350g of protein a day and 3500-4000 calories. I know people might be surprised that it’s as low as that but the competition season doesn’t start for me until Spring next year, there’s no point in being huge and strong in the gym right now, it’d be wasted.

You can’t be at your best 365 days a year which is why everything I do and all of my training is designed to help me peak for the important competitions. I’ve used it as an example already but last year when training for Britain’s, my biggest deadlift in training was 380KG and I then went on to pull 433KG on the day. When it mattered.

A lot of good guys leave their best in the gym.

When I’m training for my competitions next year I’ll be adding more protein and possibly more carbs too. I’ve never really given my diet the attention it deserves in the past but next year I’m planning on being bigger and stronger than ever and I know the right diet will be essential.

I’m feeling mentally stronger and more focused and determind than ever. Next year you’ll only see me at the big competitions and it will be with just one intention, to take 1st every time.

Meal 1: Oats and Udo’s oil mixed in with a whey protein shake. Then a handful of berries, a black coffee, some vitimin C and my Collegen Revitalise that I’ve been taking to help my shoulder and other injuries (it’s working really well!)

Meal 2: A post workout shake

Meal 3: 2X GSN chicken breasts, brown basmati rice, green beans and olive oil

Meal 4: Minced or ground beef made into kebabs (cooked with grated onion, tumeric and salt) served with rice or potatos

Meal 5: Chicken curry made with GSN chicken (this is a really lean and tasty curry! I’m going to post the photo and recipe seperate)

Meal 6: 6 scrambled eggs on wholegrain bread, a handful of cashew nuts and mange tout

Meal 7: Whey protein and another dose of my collegen formula. I’ve just starting taking a Five a Day formula too, but will post some more about that after giving it a while.

On top of this, I drink 4 to 6 litres of water a day.
